James Gannon here, welcoming you to the inaugural debut of the newest web-comic, August The 15th. I'm also the "star", so to speak, of the strip (that's me lying on the bed). The guy at the desk is my best friend Jarrod, who should show up in quite a few entries. And no, I didn't get his permission to use him as a character. Because I'm devious.

I still have some kinks to work out here, because I had to rush in order to get this comic ready for publication on this exact date. As far as updates go, I won't have a traditional schedule like Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They will be more sporadic, with a new comic being posted whenever I finish crafting one. Considering the fact I have a huge list of ideas just waiting to be turned into a visual medium, and that the comic you're looking at now only took about an hour to create, it shouldn't be that large of a gap between new entries.

What's the story behind today's comic? Ridiculing a good portion of users on MySpace.com. I do have high speed cable, but even that won't keep my browser from crashing while trying to load the monstrocities people create as profiles. Limit yourselves, people. No one is going to visit your site if they can't load it. Examples of going overboard are: A few pictures that require you to hit the "page down" key several times just to take it all in. A hundred miniature graphics, both static and animated. An animated background. At least 4 video players. The mandatory music player. Now surely those things won't cause your computer to explode, but that gross exaggeration is what makes a comic funny. At least I hope.

And that's just the way it is...
